Making the Grade? 2007 UK (April 2008)

The Government has scored a disappointing 2 out of 10 in the 3rd independent assessment of action on violence against women. Whilst some departments, particularly the Crown Prosecution Service, are leading the way across Whitehall, too many still fail to take this issue seriously.

Map of Gaps shows graphically for the first time the realMap 1 of Map of Gaps postcode lottery in violence against women support services such as Rape Crisis Centres and domestic violence refuges. A third of local authorities across the UK do not have specialised services, leaving many women without the support they deserve.
