Andrea Simon, who has worked at EVAW for over 8 years and led the Coalition since 2021, has been appointed the next Victims Commissioner for London. She will officially take up her post on 1 March 2026.
While we know she will be a big loss to our sector, we are delighted by the news of her appointment to this important role advocating on behalf of victims. We will be reflecting further on Andrea’s time at EVAW in the new year.
Our Board Co-Chairs, Marianna Tortell and Gurpreet Virdee, said:
“Since she has been Director at EVAW, Andrea has provided powerful leadership for the organisation and its membership, amplifying the voices of survivors and ensuring the most marginalised are centred in anti-racist and anti-discriminatory practice.
EVAW and the VAWG sector as a whole have been very lucky to have Andrea as a leader, and while we are sad to see her go, we are also excited to see her continue to make a difference in her new role as Victims’ Commissioner for London”.
This is a fantastic appointment for the London Victims’ Commissioner and we hope you will join us in wishing Andrea well in her next role.
